Personal Trainer in San Antonio Texas.

How to find the right personal trainer for you.

In todays episode of the Total Body Training Podcast I give you some to for finding a good personal trainer. Just so you know, I have been a personal trainer in San Antonio, Texas since 2014. I have a lot of experience with training my own clients at Total Body Training. I am going to give you an honest take what I think you should look for in a personal trainer.

Here are 4 things I think you should consider when selecting a personal trainer. First, their personality and chemistry with the trainer. Second, their plan of action for your fitness goals. Third, the trainer’s reliability and reputation. Fourth, price point. I will now go into further depth about each of these topics.

Why does chemistry matter?

Because you need to know, like, and trust the person who is leading you.

Let us say that you are going to sign up to workout with a personal trainer or a group fitness instructor for a year. Your goal is to lose 60 lbs. Would you prefer to spend a year working with a trainer that you feel like you get along with? Or would you prefer to be around someone you getting along with?

It’s important to see your trainer as a good friend who is leading you to becoming the best version of yourself. If you feel like you and the trainer are at odds with each other than chance you will start finding excuses to skip training sessions. Look for a traininer that you get along with.

Does your trainer have a plan of action?

They need to have a clear plan of action for you.

When you first meet with a trainer you will typically have a consultation process where you discuss your goals with your trainer. It is important for you to ask your trainer what their course of action is with regard to your goal. Your trainer needs to explain how they are going to help you hit your goals and they need to do this with clarity.

Is your trainer reliable?

Find a reliable personal trainer in San Antonio Texas.

Personal training can cost a good amount of money. So, you want to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth. If you have a trainer who frequently misses appointments with you or shows up late then they are not reliable. If this happens once or twice that’s fine but if it happens consistently then this is inevitably going to affect your progress.

What is your price point?

Find a price point that works for you.

The average trainer at a large corporate gym charges about $75.00 a training session. There are trainers that charge less and there are some that charge more. So, the question is how would you like to spend on personal training? That is entirely up to you. If you are looking for training that is more affordable then group fitness training might be a better option.
