Today’s episode is brought to you by carbs: Molly loves homemade cookies (but must have chocolate).

Molly and I discuss the benefits of incorporating a yoga practice into your fitness routine. Molly teaches ashtanga vinyasa, a more traditional yoga. It’s full of repetitive motions and really shows your growth, it’s traditionally a 90 minute class with the same movements every class. It’s not for everyone, but it’s steeped in tradition and there is a lot of method involved.

Yoga helps manage big emotions by helping you learn to still your breathing, body and mind. It’s in that stillness that you will find a peace within. Stress and anxiety causes our mind to do weird things, and a yoga practice helps balance life. Molly’s strength is she sets the tone and reminder at the beginning of class that there is peace within the chaos of life.

Molly talks about starting a yoga practice, dealing with the un-comfortableness of beginners, and exploring growth within your yoga practice. There’s a lot of information to share in one yoga class, but don’t stress if you don’t understand. She also talks about how yoga has helped her with personal insights and journey in life.

Listen to Molly’s experience about how yoga has changed her life & catch one of her classes at Southtown Yoga Loft.

Yo! I’m not a licensed therapist, I just talk about real shit that’s happened to my clients and me.
