Greg Glassman Sells Crossfit to Eric Roza

Greg Glassman the founder, owner, and CEO of Crossfit has sold Crossfit to Eric Roza.

This is happening because Old Greg made some racial tone-deaf comments about George Floyd and has been accused of creating a culture of misogyny at Crossfit HQ. As a result, numerous Crossfit Affiliates, Athletes, and Brands such as Rogue And Rebook have chosen to unaffiliate themselves from Crossfit. S

In this episode of Total Body Training, we are asking the questions,

What happened?Who did Greg Sell Crossfit to? and finally My thoughts about the issues.

Welcome back to Total Body Training, I’m Jean Carlos and If you haven’t already subscribed to my YouTube channel then please click the subscribe button. On this channel we go over fitness tips, trends  and tutorials to help you stay informed and get in shape.

If you’ve been keeping up with the news’s then you probably heard about Greg Glassmnan’s controversial racially tone deaf comments that he made on Twitter with regards to George Floyd. But It wasn’t just those comments. He also said some racist comments to other Crossfit affiliates in a zoom conference call and was entirely disrespectful in an email he sent to the owner of Rocket Crossfit. I’m not going to go everything that happened here but for more on this topic I made an in-depth video about called” Crossfit Ceo Greg Glassman Steps Down after Racist Comments about George Floyd”

As a result of What Greg Glassman said, many affiliates, athletes, and even large sponsors such as Rogue and Reebok decided to end their relationships with CrossifitThis would probably cost the company millions of dollars. So, at first, Greg decided to step down as the CEO of Crossfit and Make Dave Castro the new Ceo. Some people weren’t too excited about that. Castro has always been Greg’s right-hand man and though out all of this he didn’t put any distance between himself and Glassman so…. So, for me it felt like putting Castro there might just be more of the same. After all, Greg Would remain 100% owner of Crossfit. Honesty, who to say he couldn’t be pulling the string behind the scenes. Some were asking, is this enough, do we really still want Greg Around considering what He did.

Just when we thought things could get worse, someone who worked directly at Crossfit HQ and now runs a podcast, Called “Cleared Hot Podcast” Accused Greg of fostering a sexist work environment at Crossfit HQ and It looks like other people were starting to share there experience with this when all of the sudden Greg Glassman decide to sell Crossfit HQ.

Which based on how things were going I really think that was the right move. For the brand Crossfit. I think that if Greg had stayed it would have to lead them losing more credibility and losing money as a result of that.

Right before I made this video I started watching and Interview with this Erica Roza and I listened to him talk about wanting to create a CrossFit that is inclusive and I hope he follows up with that.

Eric Roza would also be the new CEO of Crossfit. That means that Dave Castro would be stepping down from that position. Which I think Is a great move.

Who is Eric Roza? Eric Roza

“The 52-year-old is a former Oracle executive and is now working for US venture capitalists General Catalyst.”

He is also the Founder of Data Logix which is a data analytics company which was sold to Oracle a couple of years back.

“Eric knows what it’s like to run a box through tough times. He has faced the same issues with payroll and rent during COVID-19, and he knows what it’s like to deal with difficult issues in the press. He also knows how to build great, inclusive workplaces, with Datalogix making Outside Magazine’s list of best places to work,” Dave Castro wrote as an introduction.”

Greg’s inability to apologize for the comments he made about George Floyd led to multiple Crossfit affiliates leaving the brand, Crossfit Athletes choosing to unaffiliate themselves from Crossfit and Reebok choosing to discontinue their relationship with Crossfit.

For more about this topic I recommend that you watch the video. I go into a lot more depth about what happened.
