What are some ways you can still enjoy going out without all the booze? I have personal experience as a person who partied, toured, and was in a band. It’s not that having a drink is bad, but it will hinder your fitness goals. If you just want to hang out, if everyone has a drink in his or her hand, so my recommendation is you purchase a non-alcoholic beverage. Maybe you have a diet soda, sparkling water, and add a twist for extra flavor. This helps you not look so out of place and you won’t be loitering. Secondly, whatever you do, don’t complain or announce that you are dieting. You’re just opening the door for a bunch of ‘why aren’t you having FUN????’ remarks. So, smile, drink your non-alcoholic beverage and sip the haters away.

You will have to be strong in this process, be resolved and STRONG in your future version of yourself. If you embrace the suck and not complain about dieting… your friends and family may surprise you with support.

But how do you have fun without drinking JEAN? Well, remember when you were a kid and didn’t have alcohol as a resort. Maybe open yourself to the opportunity to just play and you may feel really awkward, but give yourself permission to have a great time!

Remember: One drink won’t completely ruin your goal, but it will set you back on your training program.
