3 Common Diet Mistakes and How To Avoid Them. Over the last several years working as a trainer I have noticed a few common Diet Mistakes that most people make. Not only have I seen clients make these mistakes but I have made a few of them myself. My goal is to help you avoid making these same dieting mistakes. The following is a a list of 3 common diet mistakes and how to avoid them.

1. Eating More Calories Than You Realize – The average person isn’t aware of how many calories they are eating daily. Even people who are dieting typically don’t know. I’ve had many people tell me that for months they have been eating 1200 calories or less but can’t seem to loose the weight…If the person is eating 1200 calories a day Why Aren’t they losing weight? Well, the answer is simple. You are eating more than 1200 calories. I’m not calling you a liar. I’m suggesting that somewhere in your day or week you are eating extra calories. Yup, there are some extra your not including. If you were eating your exact calories for weight loss you would be losing weight. So Here is my tip. Track your calories on myfitnesspal track everything you eat so you know exactly how much you are eating and where the surplus of calories is coming from. You MUST track everything, including any little cheats or snacks you eat along the way. And then look for ways to improve your diet.

2. Eating Healthy Food and not Eating Your Macros- This is super common. Eating healthy whole foods is ideal for losing weight and feeling good. However, it is possible to eat too much of a healthy food. Let me put it this way. Chicken, Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli are healthy for you. But if you eat too much of it, if you have a surplus in those calories you will continue to gain weight. Sure you aren’t eating fast food but overeating is overeating. PERIOD. My tip is the same as before. Get on My fitness pal and track your calories and you will see results.

3. Crash Dieting for Rapid Fat loss You want to lose weight and you want to lose it now. I can’t blame, the fitness industry has done a really good job of misleading people into believing that rapid fat loss is the way to go. There are tons of magazine, products and fitness gurus touting some new fast way to lose weight. The truth is that some of those methods work. You really can lose 20 lbs in 2 week or less but it’s really unhealthy to do that because your starving yourself. Starving yourself will make you malnurited. When you get sick of starving yourself, you will gain the weight back quickly. So, instead of Looking for quick results I recommend the slow and steady path. Doctors recommend you loose between ½-2Lbs a week Tops. I know what your thinking. My fitness pal gives you the option to lose between 1.5 and 2 lbs within 2 weeks so go try it out.
These are just a few of the most common diet mistakes. There are plenty of other common dieting mistakes and maybe I will make another video about that.
