How to Stop Stress Eating 

I think at some point or another most people have found themselves stress eating. Your having a bad day. And the first thing you do, is head to the store, pick a pint of ice cream and proceed to eat all of it…. You might be a stress eating !!!! Trust me I have been there myself.  Stress eating or emotional eating is the habit of eating to avoid stress, anger, fear, boredom or sadness. Simply put it’s a way of distracting yourself from the problems in your life.If you are use to distracting yourself with stress eating and you’ve been doing it for years its now a bad habit so its gonna be a little bit tricky to break that habit but its do able.Or at the very least make it so that you indulge less often.And I have personally struggled with this. I grew up stress eating and sometime if I am not careful I will do it today.

Here are 3 tips I have used to help my stress eating. And I no psychologist. So, keep in my mind that you have something sever, so if you have an eating disorder this video isn’t for you. I strongly recommend you seek professional help.

Tip 1. Face Your problem: Whether your stressed about school, family, work or something else chances are there is something you can do. Decide whether or not your problem is something you need to resolve. And if its something you can fix, then do it. I know that might be scary but if you don’t take your problem thing will never get better.

Tip 2. Manage Your Stress:

From time to time everyone gets stressed. Its natural, but we don’t want that stress to dictate how we feel. We are gonna want to reduce that stress. Exercise is one of the best ways to combats stress because you actually raise feel good chemical, Dopamine and Serotonin. Another option is to give yourself some self care. So, get a massage or a peticure. Find activities that help you sit back, and relax.

Tip 3. Eat Enough:Make sure you are eating enough to be satiated. If you aren’t eating enough or frequently enough you are going to be hungry. And when your starving yourself you will be more likely to pick up some fast or on the go. And stress to the mix and you will more than likely stress eat. So, make sure you are eating frequently and eating enough for you body.

So, if you can learn to face your problems, Manage your stress and eat enough. You will be a happier better version of yourself.
